The middle of a UK tour seems like the perfect time to drop your new album, and that's just what New Zealanders Die! Die! Die! are doing with their fourth full-length, 'Harmony'. Current single 'Twitching Sunshine' is lifted from it, and the video below lays bare the political connotations the band had in mind here, but we'll leave the social commentary to the band and the song. It's their message after all. If we look at this from a musical perspective then it's prime single material and it's easy to see why this was chosen as promotion for the album.
Sticking to a combination of garage-rock, punk and indie, the band slap on a good helping of melody to 'Twitching Sunshine' too, and don't forget to add a little innovation to separate them from the pack. With an unusual but perfectly fitting beat, you get the sense that Die! Die! Die! hurled themselves at this song with every ounce of passion an vigour they had. The guitars build a wall of spiky noise and the vocals are softer than any of the hardcore pack, nicely averting any stereotyping. One listen isn't really satisfying enough though, like all good tunes, 'Twitching Sunshine' leaves you wanting more.
