Nolita View - Islander

Single review by

Another band shrouded in mystery, checking Nolita View's various web presences and even the press release for the track yields little info, except that they're a trio and 'Islander' is possibly their third release. Given the sound, we'd hazard a guess at them being either British or North American. Or possibly Australian. Really we're clutching at straws, but I'm sure more will be revealed in due course, as it's quite likely we'll be hearing the name Nolita View a few more times yet; they have all the ingredients to build quite a buzz.

'Islander' is the first track they've posted from their forthcoming EP of the same name and the rest will follow one-by-one over the next few weeks. You'd have to admit that 'Islander' is a very fine track and is something that you might expect from firing Vampire Weekend at Alt-J around the Large Hadron Collider and then reassembling the various new particles the scientists uncover. So that it to say that 'Islander' has an exotic twang to it, it's an experimental indie-type song and the band are keen to play about with the rhythm and throw in a few new ideas. Definitely ones to watch.
