The debut album by Birmingham indie/pop band Swim Deep has been one of the most anticipated of the year and has generally garnered great reviews all round (although the NME were a little lukewarm in their piece, but things are hit and miss with that publication anyway). We've already sung the praises of the album's singles thus far, and with release day being Monday 5th of August, we thought we should give you the heads up about a special deal that those who pre-order 'Where The Heaven Are We' through iTunes will receive an exclusive bonus track, 'Crush', which you can hear below.
With their typical blend of modern guitar-pop, summery, baggy-influences and melodies that hit you instantly, it seems as though 'Crush' is worth putting in an advance purchase for, plus you get recent single 'King City' immediately as part of the package. With Swim Deep just about every song sounds like it could be a single, and this is no exception. If the tunes we've featured so far haven't been enough to whet your appetite, then have a go on this preview of album track 'Francisco', another that's being streamed ahead of release and another that mixes those key ingredients to create yet more sparkling loveliness that will brighten up your day instantly. It's increasingly looking like Swim Deep are one of the country's very finest new bands.
