Single review by kev@thesoundofconfusion.co.uk
Given the amount of Swedish readers we have, I'll leave the title of this new single from Ditt Inre for them to know and us to find out. As with previous tracks we've featured by the mysterious duo (for example, the excellent 'Inget Val'), they're producing the kind of laid-back electronic pop that was called chillwave until everyone got fed up with that description, and it's taken from their album 'Vard Mer Ãn Guld' which is released next week on the ever reliable US label Cascine.
It gives us a great chance to play around with some generic musical metaphors too. 'Vi kommer aldrig bli som er' is like leaves gently swaying in the breeze on a summer's day, it's like the setting sun reflecting off the crystal clear ocean, it's like a shimmering heat haze that clouds your view in a magical way... you know, loads of old nonsense like that. It is all those corny cliches, yes, but on a serious note this is a very good song that's been executed to perfection. The album could be a little magical itself.
