That rare thing: a video that actually enhances the song and isn't just there to saturate the senses of people without the attention span or concentration to listen to music on its own. Set in some stunning, almost magical countryside, there are the two members of Starwalker along with strange people cloaked in black. One in particular is carrying a handful of black balloons, a bit like the Grim Reaper with his scythe replaced by helium balls which are soon allowed to drift into the increasingly foggy/smoky sky, all while other mystery figures look on. It's puzzling and it's mysterious, and that's why it works.
'Bad Weather' itself is a mysterious song, one that brings with it an otherworldly feel. Before we jump in with the comparisons to Air and maybe even Phoenix and the like, it's worth pointing out that the two members of Starwalker are Icelandic musician Bardi Johannsson of the group Bang Gang and also Jean-Benoit Dunckel of Air themselves, and as Air influenced most of the groups we could liken this to then it renders those comparisons null and void. Because of Johannsson's input this couldn't be an Air song, it has a different sound, but it is a very fine first offering from the pair, and the analogue-sounding hum of the electronics throughout this mid-paced delight are wonderful to listen to.
