More "bossa nova dream pop" from California-based TRAILS AND WAYS, a band delivering us a fine slice of summery, Spanish, joyous alt-pop. Following on from previous release 'Boarder Crosser', 'Como Te Vas' sounds even better, but maybe that's just because the music these guys make is made for sunshine, not for winter. You'd have to be pretty soulless not to find some enjoyment here, even if your Spanish, like mine, is non-existent. The beat, the melody, the handclaps, the chorus of voices, the rhythm; everything here is precision engineered for maximum fun impact.
Allow this song to serve as an appetite-whetter for their new EP 'Trilingual' which is out on Tuesday, and we're guessing from the title won't be solely sung in Spanish. They're also currently embarking on a sizable tour of North America and by the sounds of the instruments at play, and they way they play them, it's impossible to believe that this band will be anything less than a top-of-the-range live experience. So download the tune for now, buy the EP in a couple of days, and then pop along to a show if you can; it seems like the perfect time to absorb the full TRAILS AND WAYS treatment.
