Vintage Moon are a new band from the LA area and have just released their first EP as well as this single which is free to download. 'Night Heights' is synth-pop with a difference; it's almost a robotic extension of dreampop or shoegaze, both styles can be heard within this song, along with the odd hint of Hot Chip. They're just starting out and they're good already, we'll keep you posted when we hear more.

The Aprons - SoundStain
Another find from Israel's incredibly vibrant underground music scene, The Aprons are a duo who make music with an air of mystery about it, that much you'll gather from the video alone. We don't have a great deal of information on them, but these two girls make strange and haunting dreamy alt-rock that's difficult to pin down, like on free track 'SoundStain'.

Featureless Ghost - Video Enforcement
Back in January we gave you a free track from Atlanta electro-pop experimentalists Featureless Ghost and now they're giving away another track from the same album, 'Personality Matrix'. 'Video Enforcement' has an almost creepy feeling to it and wouldn't sound out of place on any compilation of the best alternative electronic groups of the 1980s.

Dash - Home
If you take the electro-pop above, speed it up and then serve it sprinkled with sugar and a gallon of Red Bull it might end up sounding as ridiculously energetic and joyous as this track by Dash. The band are from North Carolina and have been compared to Passion Pit and early MGMT, we think you can definitely hear a bit of both on the super-motivated 'Home'.

May McDonough & Company - Hell Is For Lovers
If that was all a bit sweet and lively for you then the grittier, bluesy alt-rock of May McDonough & Company should be just the tonic. You could perhaps put then in a similar bracket to Heartless Bastards although they have their own style. New single 'Hell Is For Lovers' is the first to be taken from their forthcoming album 'bullyboywithaglasseye'.
