Five For Free #166

Dråpe - Memories

We might as well just move to somewhere in Scandinavia and be done with it. Here's another great band, this time from Norway. Oslo's Dråpe (pronounced "draw peh") release their debut album later this year and it will include 'Memories', a wonderful piece of dreampop that's made from sugar and spice and all things nice and is so good it's probably bad for your health.

Low - So Blue

They're veterans and they're cult heroes but Low aren't living off past glories on new album 'The Invisible Way'. Previous album cut and free download 'Just Make It Stop' saw them in relatively lively form, and now the album's arrived here's another free track, 'So Blue', which also stands up to some of their finest work. There are reasons why some bands achieve special cult status, as proven here.

Fol Chen - I.O.U

Californian electro-pop experimentalists Fol Chen put out their third album 'The False Alarms' this week and are offering up a little taster should you wish to try before you buy. 'I.O.U' uses a mixture of treated vocals, synths and their trademark found sounds along with unique percussion to make an alternative pop track that's a little different from the norm.

If you can't wait that long, then you can pick up The Hush Now's ace latest track for free below and enjoy its snappy guitars and big chorus. We're promised an album to be released in the summer, it should be worth waiting for.

Jason Blum - Josephine

Texan singer-songwriter Jason Blum releases his album 'Radio Dial' next week. You may have already heard single 'I Know Evil' which we featured a while ago, and if you want more from the record then here's free track 'Josephine' which he wrote for a friend of the same name. It's an upbeat and summery piece of Americana-influenced alt-rock.
