Gaps - All The Days Are Now

Single review by kev@thesoundofconfusion.co.uk

Recent 'Band To Check Out' stars Gaps have posted a new track online, so if you enjoyed the couple they premiered earlier this year then you can stream it below. It shows that the Brighton-based group are very much in action and building up a set list of both substance and quality. Their summery chillwave/dreampop sound wasn't ideally suited to the middle of winter, but as we approach the equinox this week and hopefully end the current cold snap, we can turn our minds to lighter, warmer days and will have plenty of choice for tunes to chill in the sun to.

Gaps should probably be near the top of the list, and by summer there may even be a official EP released so we can take them with us on our iPods and enjoy them in their natural environment, a place that is summed up by their promo shot above. 'All The Days Are Now' is comparable to jj in its use of acoustic guitars and chilled Balearic beats, plus those bubbly sound effects and the expansive and hypnotic style are designed for forgetting the world around you and just soaking up the here and now and worrying about nothing.
