Prefer your physical formats to digital? Then there's a good chance that vinyl will be favoured over cassette given the choice between the two (and you're more likely to be equipped to play it at a higher quality). Until now, Vision Fortune's EP 'Night Jukes' had only been available as a download or on tape, having first been released last summer. From this week the Cardinal Fuzz label is giving vinyl junkies the chance to own a copy on their favoured format. If you missed it the first time around, then this serves as a good reminder of a record that has a sound of its own.

From the EP is 'Drag', and if you ask half a dozen critics then it wouldn't be surprising if you were given half a dozen different genres back. Doing away with an intro (or an ending of any particular note), 'Drag' starts as it means to go on; repetitive, inventive, hypnotic, buzzing and with a personal identity. Half a dozen genres? Take your pick from drone-rock, shoegaze, psychedelia, krautrock, darkwave or retro-industrial for starters. Fans who like music from Silver Apples to Wooden Shjips and all in between should be flagging this one down as it passes.
