Single review by jay@thesoundofconfusion.co.uk
The debut song from San Diego based Dominic Renee in his guise as Artifacts arrives in a sweet indie-wrapped form. It has a melody that could be lifted out of 'Loveless' or 'Bug'. Tender vocals sit echoing from the back and a chiming guitar drops into some fuzzed-out wonder as the song closes.
Although it has distinct echoes of nineties American indie/grunge, 'Heal Me' is not some rehash, and it has a fresh and contemporary feel akin to Kurt Vile. But enough comparisons, it's time to press play again and enjoy 'Heal Me'’ for it what it is; a great, sparkling, fuzzed-up pop song.
