The Stillwalkers - Bruises (demo)

Single review by kev@thesoundofconfusion.co.uk

It was back in January and the release of their EP 'Everytune' that it dawned on us just how many bands from the Finnish city of Turku we've featured on the site of late. The music scene must be thriving there and The Stillwalkers are one of their most prized assets. That EP was a rock-solid collection of alt-rock tunes that wouldn't have sounded out of place had they been released a couple of decades ago. Each song was essentially a variation on the same theme but with the standard that high it didn't really matter.

Now putting the finishing touches to their forthcoming debut album, The Stillwalkers are sharing this demo track with us. As we've said of a few demos recently, this sounds very much like the finished article as it is, so if they can improve it they have a real winner. Again we're talking '90s guitar bands and again we're talking a very good song. You could call it post-grunge, you could call it indie, we'll just call it bloody good and start counting down the days until the album arrives.
