Single review by kev@thesoundofconfusion.co.uk
I'm sure that, like me, you've always wondered just what Hot Chip would sound like had they been from Luxembourg rather than the UK. Well you need wonder no more, because this trio have brought us the answer. From what we can tell they may currently be stationed in Netherlands, but Say Yes Dog have roots in the tiny, landlocked country. Luxembourg often gets overlooked and most people probably know very little about the place, but surely it can't be particularly different in culture to the countries that surround it. So music of this quality should be no surprise.
Their mixture of electro-pop and indie has also been compared to Miike Snow (which we can see) and James Blake (which, judging by this song, we can't), and new single 'Get It' loses nothing in translation as the slow start gives way to a more beats and guitars until by the end you're kind of wanting it to carry on a little bit longer. But that's usually the best way; leave people wanting more. And should that be the case with you, then you'll be happy to note that they'll be bringing their tunes on a trip around Europe this month.
