This mixture of shuffling, sped-up trip-hop beats, shoegazey atmospherics and electro-rock stylings is from the debut EP by Binary, a London group who we first featured back in February. 'G.O.D' doesn't disappoint, being another sassy track with a good amount of backbone and the song to back it up with. This is the second track taken from 'Amber' which is out this week.

Still Corners - Berlin Lovers
Are we looking at an ever so slight departure for the second album by London duo Still Corners? They've always had an electronic element to what they do, but single 'Berlin Lovers' almost sounds as though it's aiming for a disco edge. Not in a shiny dancefloor kind of way, more a pulsing and jagged kind of way, although the vocals are pure enough to ensure it doesn't get too gritty.

Deerhunter - Punk (La Vie Antérieure)
Bradford Cox and his Deerhunter crew have generally polarised opinion, in that critics and music obsessives love them, but the general public or more casual music fans cant quite grasp what the fuss is about. 'Punk (La Vie Antérieure)' from new album 'Monomania' perhaps sums this up brilliantly. Critics will love it, to most people it's just sounds like a weirdly recorded demo.

Young Knives - Reproduction
In the mid-00s, Young Knives' sharp guitar tunes fitted in nicely alongside The Futureheads, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party etc., but many won't have realised they're still a going concern. And not only that, new single (from the EP 'Oh Happines' due in June) sees them ditch their sound of old and turn into a hybrid of Suicide, krautrock and twisted psychedelia. With creepy lyrics. We approve.

OBLIGATORY RECORD OF THE WEEK
Camera Obscura - Do It Again
Each time heroic Scottish indiepoppers Camera Obscura release an album it's preceded by a typically amazing single. Last time it was 'My Maudlin Career', and that song went on to become our Obligatory Record Of The Year for 2009. It's taken a while to follow it up, but perfection doesn't always happen overnight. New album 'Desire Lines' is out on June 3rd and its lead single 'Do It Again' hasn't stopped growing on us since we first heard it a few weeks ago. It's now available to buy on iTunes, either on its own or, if you pre-order the album, you get the track instantly as part of the deal. Really when it comes to such beautifully written and arranged indiepop songs as this the only band who can compete are Sambassadeur. They too have an album due this year; bring on the battle of brilliance and may the best band stagger us all with a feast of amazing songs.
