Vuvuvultures - Stay Still

Single review by kev@thesoundofconfusion.co.uk

A little bit of a preview for you here. Formed in 2011, London group Vuvuvultures really got going last year when they released a debut EP and hit the road around the UK and Europe and also The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. They plan on making this year even bigger, with their debut album in the works and set for release... sometime. Nothing's set in stone yet but they definitely have plenty of tunes and are at an advanced stage, so there will be no My Bloody Valentine-type messing around here, we will be hearing more from them before long. In fact they're even allowing us a sneaky peak at the next single.

As far as we know there's not a date set yet for its release, although we can all hear what it's about now as they've posted the full stream up early. Called 'Stay Still', Vuvuvultures hurl everything they could find into this song's creation. Numerous sounds are heaped on top of each other without becoming a mess. Are they an indie band experimenting with electronica and dabbling in other styles? Or are they just a group of innovators who fancied having a go at a pop (ish) tune? I guess that's for you to decide. It's impressive either way and should help blow away that Sunday morning hangover.
