City Reign - Album Update

Article by kev@thesoundofconfusion.co.uk

Manchester indie-rockers City Reign have given us a couple of sneaky peaks as to what we can expect from their album 'Another Step' which is due out at the end of the month. They've sent over this high quality radio rip of the album's opening track 'Anchor' which again, and possibly more so, sees them pushing forward with their own sound that's not derived from the city's past. It still sounds a bit like early Idlewild and that's still not a bad thing. It's also one of the best we've heard from them and a definite contender for a future single.

Plus, for the first time, we get to find out a bit more about the band with a behind the scenes video that takes in a tour of their recording studio (which isn't exactly a palace and has even been used as a horror film set) and different band members talking about the early history of the band, Lionel Richie and their favourite tracks off the album. If you haven't been following our coverage of the band then we should say that the backing music to the video is single 'Making Plans' which we've included below.
