N-A-I-V-E-S - No Way

Article by KevW

Based in London but also containing members from France, N-A-I-V-E-S (sometimes simply styled as "Naives", but we're pushing the boat out because it's Christmas...) have managed to build up a good following considering they only have a handful of singles to their name so far. That said, they've caught the ears of enough people to notch up some decent festival slots including Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party. Their following is likely to swell even more soon, as the trio are readying their first EP for release, but before that is current single 'No Way'.

With a sound that's essentially electronic indie with an experimental side, you'd be forgiven for thinking that N-A-I-V-E-S are similar to the plethora of other bands who fit that description, and while they have drawn comparison to Klaxons and tUnE-yArDs, they offer their own slant on things here, even managing to get in a sneaky vocal reference to Guns N' Roses, although they don't share that bands cock-rock style at all. You could maybe call it electro-rock, but really this is a left-field pop song that's seeking to discover a sound that's entirely its own, and in that respect it just about succeeds.
