If you've checked out our December playlist then you'll know we began this month by featuring the title-track from Beliefs' new album 'Leaper', and if you haven't checked out our December playlist then you should do, because it's chock-full of quality tunes, even if we do say so ourselves. Beliefs' latest video is for 'Colour Of Your Name' which is taken from the same album and is another stellar shoegaze song that makes us wish we'd heard of these guys back when they released their debut. Some backtracking is going to be pretty essential to see if it's as good as the new record.
Even if you're not usually a fan of distorted indiepop tracks, there's a good chance that this might tick some of the right boxes. Yeah, it contains fuzzy guitars and much use if effects pedals, vocals that aren't too in your face and the usual wall of noise that's associated with the genre, only with added tunefulness. It's also got a pacey, almost danceable beat and doesn't hang around being all atmospheric for the sake of it - this gets down to business quickly and does so very well. 'Colour Of Your Name' should be enough to convert a few more people to the music of Beliefs.
