Californian guitar band Mister Loveless have taken the music of many of the past decades big US indie acts (you know the ones, we won't list them) and given them a slightly more mainstream makeover. It seems to have worked for them too as their debut album was met with both public and critical approval. You can grab a free download of 'Wild Summer' from their album 'Grow Up' below.

Dödens Dal - Bakom Stjärnor, Bakom Tiden
This will be the third time in as many months that we've featured experimental Swedes Dödens Dal, and 'Bakom Stjärnor, Bakom Tiden' is the second single to be taken from their album 'Gå Ensam Förbi Horisonten' (I hope you're following this OK). The instrumental track could be called post-rock although it's a bit unusual for that, but frankly we can't come up with any better description, so that'll have to do.

Brakemouth - Cracked Glass
Information on Brakemouth: zero. So we're guessing/making this up. We think Brakemouth is the moniker of a male solo artist probably from America, and we think he was in another band before but we're not sure what they were called or if they had any success. Anyway, he's put this track out, it's called 'Cracked Glass' and is a nice mixture of electro-pop and indie.

Aztec Birds - Tell Your Friends
We do know a bit about English duo Aztec Birds as we've featured them in the past, and they've recently uploaded some more songs onto their SoundCloud page for free download, including a couple of acoutic tracks. Not at all like your folky acoustic fair, 'Tell Your Friends' in more in tune with bands like Spacemen 3 and other psychedelic warriors and is a top tune.

Ross Fish - Chasing Ghosts
US singer-songwriter Ross Fish is in a prolific mood at the moment with an EP, single and mini-album all released in quick succession. His new mini-album is called 'Sleeping With Ghosts' and he's kindly made it free (or name-your-price if you're in a generous mood) on Bandcamp. Single 'Chasing Ghosts' is a slightly jaunty acoustic number with a variety of unusual sounds and handclaps to add to the fun.
