Single review by KevW
Let's be honest, few of us will be spending Christmas eve buying records, so choosing this date for The Jim Jones Revue to release this next offering from their acclaimed 'The Savage Heart' album seems rather like a token gesture. But then most singles nowadays, particularly by non-chart bands are purely promotional tools for the album; get radio playing the song, get blogs like us writing reviews and spread their nitrous oxide-injected R&B, blues, garage-rock gospel that little bit further. Maybe there's a certain irony in putting out a song called 'Where Da Money Go?' on that particular date, when most people will have just spent more than at any other point of the year.
Frankly, who cares. The Jim Jones Revue are awesome and their "Little Richard on speed" stylings always sound like a psychotic wild man on the loose with a batch of splendid musicians under his magical spell, and this is, naturally, no different. Fans will already have the album, those who've been considering buying it but not given in to temptation just yet, let this be the kick up the arse you need to howl along to some of the finest rock'n' roll racket you'll hear all year. It's a time of worship for many, and you can bet a fair few will be worshiping and hollering at the alter of The Jim Jones Revue.
