Single review by KevW
Something gentle and soothing to ease you into your day this morning, and this single from Colorado artist Mesita, a track from his album 'The Coyote' which was released earlier this year. 'Ken Caryl' might sound like the name of a man, and maybe somewhere it is, but it's (in this case at least) an area in Colorado. OK so the album was released back in April so we're a bit slow off the mark with this one, but the song has been brought to our attention now thanks to a second remix from Human Machine. You can stream both below as well as the original which is so chilled and laid-back that it's probably lying on the grass having a snooze in the midday sun.
We know little about Mesita so we've got some catching up to do there, although we've featured Human Machine very recently and the pair seem like a match made in heaven, complimenting each other's casual and soft approach to making luscious experimental jams, part chillwave and part dreampop. You never know, the success of this double collaboration might even lead to a joint album in the future and it would be great to see these two fine proponents of appetisingly modern and casual innovative sounds bouncing ideas of each other for a full-length effort. Just a thought...
