VIDEO PREMIÈRE: Georgian Waters - Heaven

Single review by soul1@thesoundofconfusion.com

We've spent more than a year fawning over Stockholm's Georgian Waters. They made our tracks of the year list in December, they made our tips for 2014 list too. Why? Because they've so far been one of those bands that just doesn't put a foot wrong. We're not going off the back of a couple of singles here; already this quintet have released over an album's worth of songs as singles and EPs, and they've all been available for free on their SoundCloud page. So far everything has been done DIY. They've recorded and spread word of their music around themselves in order to build the foundations of a fanbase, and it's worked. Just the other day I was speaking to the head honcho of Records I Like who's been similarly impressed by their sparkling, hazy indiepop sounds.

This brand new video for the track 'Heaven' signals the end of phase one for the band, as they look ahead and begin to build on those foundations. Work is under way on a new EP which we should hopefully hear soon, but in the mean time, we feel incredibly honoured to be able to première the video to this lush and chiming dreampop tune. Combining psychedelic images with studio and live footage of the band and also of their natural surroundings, it's a little glimpse into their world. Both song and footage are the perfect way to close this first chapter, and when you get to the end of one chapter, particularly the first, you always wonder just what the second will bring. Hopefully it won't be too long before we find out, we're already getting a little bit excited...
