Album review by scott@thesoundofconfusion.com
Bournemouth's GGGHOST TOWNNN describe their latest offering as '60s psychedelia, spy movie soundtracks and post-punk horror. That sounds wildly and disturbing to say the least, but these six tracks spanning over 52 minutes provide good fodder for your ears. The album still offers something different in a genre that is making use of effects far too easily I think, and in the process protecting musicians.
We see bands continuing to use them as a quick fix it seems more frequently, but here isn't the case it seems. We have to give credit here, as 'Shocktopussy' makes brilliant listening for fans of Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, and Hawkwind's, 'In Search Of Space'. You can check them out live over the coming weeks, touring Sweden, Norway and the UK!
