Bruce Foxton - Don't Waste My Time

Single review by adam@thesoundofconfusion.co.uk

"Don’t Waste My Time" is something heard on a daily basis for any telemarketer, but it's also the new single from Bruce Foxton for his first solo album in thirty years, titled 'Back In The Room'. The legendary bass player of The Jam/Stiff Little Fingers comes back with a cheeky little number that's sure to leave whoever listens in a good mood. So if you happen to be 'Down In The Tube Station At Midnight', in the countryside or even 'In The City', this is something to enjoy. Let's 'Start!'

Setting off with a series of drums and horns it's hard not to be drawn into such an optimistic intro, and once the delivery of Foxton's vocals kick in things are even harder to dislike. The chorus boosts the happiness surrounding the track with an extra dosage of guitar riffs and female backing singers to keep this jazz sound smoother than an evening view of Los Angeles - drink it up, it always goes down smooth. For something titled as aggressively as 'Don’t Waste My Time' this is a surprisingly uplifting and good song, it's not going to make the 'News Of The World' but it's certainly going to keep us in a… Jam.
