Jungle Doctors - Dry

Single review by soul1@thesoundofconfusion.com

Reports that Jungle Doctors can count Two-Ten Ted From Teddington (ask you Dad) amongst their ranks are unconfirmed, but that's where the young quintet hail from. Since forming in 2011 they've become regulars on The Sound Of Confusion thanks to promising early EP 'Making Conversation' and last year's single 'Better' which showed signs that the band had grown in ability and confidence, as did 'Talk To Me'. I think we can now safely say that they'll be here to stay for a while and are likely to serve up plenty of good songs along the way. With comparisons to Two Door Cinema Club, Vampire Weekend and a poppier Foals, they could well trouble the charts too.

I guess the full picture will appear when they release a debut album, but to tide us over, new single 'Dry' is more than adequate. Plucking hooks out of thin air, Jungle Doctors now sound much smoother and much more natural. It's been suggested by some (including us) that guitar bands could see their stock rise in 2014, so there will be a whole new generation that will be looking for their own version of The Maccabees or Bombay Bicycle Club (both still going and relevant, but younger folk may want something newer), and Jungle Doctors are prime candidates to act as this band. So don't be surprised if these guys are a much bigger name come next March, and enjoy this new free tune in the mean time.
