Five For Free #30

Secret Music - T.O.Y.S

Indie/electro duo Secret Music have recently released new single 'T.O.Y.S' on Black Bell Records and both tracks show a keen ear for a tune. It's the lead track that shines brightest with its mix of distorted vocals, scratchy guitars and piercing synths, they're like a less euphoric version of The Naked And Famous. Stream both tracks below and download 'T.O.Y.S' for free.

Being There - Tomorrow

If you haven't heard the staggeringly good debut single from indiepop stars in waiting Being There then I'd urge you to click here right away. If you have heard it - isn't it brilliant?! While I'm sat here counting down the days until their album drops in March, I've been listening to another track from them: The excellent melodic fuzz of 'Tomorrow' All you have to do is click where it says 'Download' and it's yours.

Howler - Back Of Your Neck

Certain quarters of the music press have already decided that Howler will be 2012's great big indie heroes, but then they said that about Viva Brother *shudder*. Howler are certainly a better prospect and debut single 'Back Of Your Neck' is a decent garage/indie track. Unlikely to become the major stars some are predicting, but definitely worth a listen.

You can download 'Back Of Your Neck' in exchange for a 'like' on Howler's Facebook

Lissy Trullie - Madeline

Elizabeth McChesney, better known as Lissy Trullie, has been taking ages to make her debut album. Her last release, 2009's 'Self Taught Learner', was a mixed bag but showed real promise. Finally she's announced album 'Madeline' will be with us in March. After a wait this long it had better be good! If the slow-burning title track is anything to go by, it just might be.

Thee Oh Sees - The Dream

In order to not keep her fans waiting so long next time, Lissie Truillie could do with taking some lessons from Thee Oh Sees. 'The Dream' is a psychedelic garage rock titan of a tune with relentless drumming and squalling guitar solos, and it's yours for free below.
