In various cultures in many different places all over the world, ancient wisdom has it that music is a gateway to your sensorial capacities for healing. In part, it's about the vibrational element. In part, it's due to the mindset that the music can put you in – hence specific types of music (including new age, ambient, and downtempo) is often espoused for medication or drumming is used for inducing a trance. While we've clearly fallen out of sync with these traditional "tuning" means of our ancestors, we do quite agree that a good calm set of music is what is needed for healing.
