Joanna Gruesome - Weird Sister

Album review by scott@thesoundofconfusion.co.uk

There is some joyous noise surrounding Joanna Gruesome and their debut 'Weird Sister'. This is a album that would feel right at home next to the rest of your collective gems. A band clearly drawing inspiration from its pioneers of the C86, riot grrl and post-hardcore scenes of the last 20 years. They have announced themselves ticking all the right boxes and for all the right reasons.

Nothing seems off-limits with their thundering drumbeats, loud jangle guitar fuzz and coated in oozing glorious pop! Signed to the might of twee-pop labels Slumberland Records & Fortuna Pop!, Cardiff might just have a great band in the making. GO CARDIFF!
