Five For Free #50
The Big Sleep - Ace
It's been four years since we had the last album from Brooklyn alternative/indie types The Big Sleep but they're back this week with their third LP 'Nature Experiments'. Now essentially a duo, new track 'Ace' sees them mixing a more dance based beat into their shoegazey pop and is the kind of track that radio stations would be all over if they had a clue how to compile a playlist properly.

The See See - And I Wonder
News from The See See camp is that we could be getting some new material in the next couple of months, but before then they're playing with The Olivia Tremor Control and ahead of that are giving us a free track from last years excellent debut album 'Late Morning Light'. 'And I Wonder' is a lovely acoustic pop track and if you haven't heard the album yet then you're missing out on some great music.

Yellow Ostrich - Marathon Runner
They may have only released their second album in 2011 but New York trio Yellow Ostrich are already prepping their third, 'Strange Land', for release on March 6th. You can pick up album cut 'Marathon Runner' for free and enjoy some experimental indie of the sort that will go down well with fans of Animal Collective and similar boundary pushers.

Vacationer - Trip
Vacationer is from Philadelphia and is possibly a solo artist and might also be something to do with DOM. However, that information could be incorrect as there's little solid fact to be found using the mighty power of Google and the lack of him sending us a press release. Still, 'Trip' is a cracking tune though, with some chilled out big beats and minimalist electronica. Whoever he/they is/are, we like him/them.

Museum Mouth - Blood Mountain
We have far more info on lo-fi alt-rock trio Museum Mouth though. Hailing from North Carolina, the band have just released their new album 'Sexy But Not Happy' via Bandcamp and are letting us have the jagged garage rock of 'Blood Mountain' as a free taster. It's noisy, under produced, rough, and catchy. All of which makes it pretty darn enjoyable as far as we're concerned!
